Over the course of the last few years, we have hosted a meeting each month in our home called the Lampstand.
We have a time of focused worship, teaching from the word, and a time to respond in prayer. We desire and are praying for significant impartation of truth, encouragement, and strength from the Lord for each one who comes.
It is important for followers of Christ to shine with the character of Christ and burn with the message of truth, but we cannot do this unless we take the time to get "oil for our lamps." Just as olives are pressed in order to produce oil, we want to be those who are getting fuel from the Holy Spirit and the scriptures to have oil within us. We want these Lampstand meetings to be times where we are not only pressing out oil but are inspired to have lifestyles of pressing out oil. It is especially needed if we are to be burning bright in the difficult and dark times we are living in as well as darker days to come.
We also pray that in these meetings the Lord would find a resting place for His presence. We see David's vow in Psalm 132 that He wouldn't give himself rest until he has found a resting place for God. In his day, this applied to the ark of the covenant being brought into Jerusalem and worship of Yahweh having a central place in the nation. We desire the worship of Jesus to be central in these Lampstand meetings and for him to have a place where his people are seeking His face and are in agreement with Him. This is our prayer for the region as well. Oh that his glory would be known among us!
We also desire these meetings would be a refreshing and encouraging time for those who are laboring in various ministry assignments that the Lord has given them. We pray that they would be reminded that intimacy with the Lord is vital to sustain us in walking out what God has asked us to do.
